EducateNext: Ambry's CEU Credit Webinars

blog image

For years, Ambry has been offering educational webinars to our employees as a way to make sure genetic counselors across multiple functions within the company were always up to date on the latest research. Now, we are opening up this program to all genetics professionals, in the form of a new program called EducateNext. This program will present hour long webinars almost every Monday from 12-1pm PST.

Ambry has secured approval from the National Society of Genetic Counseling (NSGC) to offer CEUs to certified genetic counselors and from the Professional Acknowledgment for Continuing Education (P.A.C.E.®) to offer credits to licensed laboratory directors and technologists. We are also sponsoring the NSGC CEU fees for both Ambry and non-Ambry GCs, to keep these webinars free for the public.

Why we are doing this:

Above all, we are presenting these webinars to facilitate the review of current practices relevant to laboratory or clinical genetics professionals. We expect participants to gain knowledge regarding advances and best practices in molecular genetics.  We believe that sharing research updates in the field in an open environment is critical towards promoting the continuing education of genetic counselors and laboratory scientists.

Our hope is that ultimately the lecture series will translate to improving the health and quality of life for patients and their families. We want all participants to learn about new topics, so the genetics community as a whole is better informed. The more everyone knows about disease, the more we can all contribute towards its ultimate understanding.

What we are presenting:

The webinar topics cover several specialties in genetics, from research to diagnostics and clinical practice..  For example, here are some of our upcoming webinars:

How to Get Involved:

If you want to join in on our webinars, you can sign up for our webinar mailing list by going here, and using the button to register. NSGC recommends participants to use their personal email instead of work email addresses to ensure that they receive their CEU certificate in case their work email address changes.

EducateNext is open to the public so even if people don’t need the CEUs, they may benefit from the information we share.

NOTE: Genetic Counselors: The National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) has authorized Ambry Genetics to offer up to 3.0 CEUs or 30 Category 1 contact hours for the activity EducateNext: Ambry Genetics 2018 CEU Program. The American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) will accept CEUs earned at this program for the purposes of genetic counselor certification and recertification. Clinical Laboratory Scientists: The Professional Acknowledgment for Continuing Education (P.A.C.E.) has authorized Ambry Genetics to offer 1 contact hour for each EducateNext webinar.
